Susie Marlowe: Esplanade 7"

Suzie Marlowe was born in Kent c. 1960 (precise date & location unknown). Whilst attending Mepham College of Art she performed in the short-lived punk / new wave bands The Wealds & The Salt Shakers. At some point she developed an interest in alchemy, scrying & communing with the dead, which informed her artistic practice (all of her paintings are lost). She was last seen living in Brighton in 1983, living & working in various guest houses. The precise date of her disappearance is not known, having cut off all contact with her friends & family in London & Kent. 40 years later, during a refurbishment at a former B&B, a bag belonging to Marlowe was discovered. It contained a heavily annotated copy of 'Berg' by Ann Quin, a 7" single ('Johnny Remember Me' by John Leyton) & a cassette labelled "S Marlow [sic] Demo 1982". This contained 7 songs - all but 2 have perished.
