Indre Krig: Destroyer 7" (US pressing)
Released earlier in the year on the magnificent Adult Crash Records out of Copenhagen, Denmark, Beach Impediment is pleased to handle the North American pressing of an absolute, bonafide international hardcore punk ripper... the "DESTROYER" EP from INDRE KRIG! Six tracks of razor sharp musicianship with truly memorable hooks and riffs to match it, this platter keeps up the reputation K-Town has garnered for generating quality punk music over the course of multiple decades now. Each record comes in a pocket sleeve embellished with particularly striking art by the living legend we call Nicky Rat.
Our take:Ā UsmanĀ andĀ AngelaĀ both chose this new EP from Copenhagen, Denmarkās Indre Krig as their staff pick last week, and Iād like to add my voice to the chorus of SSR staffers singing this recordās praises. The bar for great punk in Copenhagen is pretty darn high, but Indre Krig distinguishes themselves with a sound that it as catchy as it powerful. They can sound super tough on a track like āPinball Eyesā or āHalitosis,ā but itās not all rage⦠there are subtle hints of melody all over the record, and Indre Krig has a way of generating those goosebump moments you want from a great hardcore record. Check out the subtle lead guitar melody in my favorite track, āClaustrophobia,ā or the climactic moment when āPinball Eyesā returns to its crunchy mid-paced intro riff. I also love that the vocalistās style matches the bandās approach, moving from a Boston hardcore-style growl to a more plaintive, slightly melodic style on āClaustrophobia.ā The playing is as razor-sharp as the composition, and the subtle balance between being raging and hooky, straightforward and left-of-center works beautifully. A totally brilliant record.
