Ignorantes: Parece Que Tuvimos Demasiados Hijitos 12" (Smoke vinyl)
Chilean scuzzpunks, Ignorantes, have spent nearly 8 years delivering some of the strongest street punk in contemporary DIY. âParece Que Tuvimos Demasiados Hijitos,â is their debut LP pressing and features a collection of re-recorded hardcore staples that have previously only existed on different tapes and singles. This is a limited release and a boiling hot ticket item that we have until we donât, so buy it today to avoid feeling like a dunce.

Our take: After nearly a decade releasing hard to find tapes and 7âs, Parece Que Tuvimos Demasiados Hijitos (âIt seems we had too many little childrenâ) is the first 12â vinyl from Chileâs Ignorantes. Iâm not sure if the band considers it a full-length, since this 45rpm 12â consists mostly of re-recordings of songs that appeared on those earlier releases, but regardless of its discographical status, Parece Que Tuvimos Demasiados Hijitos distills everything thatâs great about Ignorantes to its raw essence. The bandâs name tells you all you need to know, Ignorantesâ primitive bashing sounding like the glue-damaged grandchildren of the first two Chaos UK 7âs. The drummerâs simple pogo beats stagger like theyâve just downed four drinks at last call, the tinny guitars are only decipherable when theyâre playing wild, unstructured leads, very angry people yell at you in Spanish, and the bassist holds everything together with a sense of melody that sounds like it was honed in a childâs nursery. This framework stays consistent throughout Parece Que Tuvimos Demasiados Hijitos, but youâre not really coming to Ignorantes for subtle stylistic innovation⊠or subtle anything for that matter. This is bash-you-over-the-head shit, a temper tantrum set to the unrelenting metronome of humanityâs decline. Youâre either going to think this record is the worst or the best thing youâve ever heard. Give it a spin and find out which side of the fence you passed out on.
