Herpes / Hunted Down: Split 7"
Split 7" from these two upstate New York bands, both of whom demonstrate a strong Japanese hardcore influence. Herpes, who are sort of a hyped band right now, sound quite a bit like Bastard to my ears, particularly in the vocals, even if they aren't nearly as tight as the Japanese legends. Regardless, this is raw and raging. As for Hunted Down, they're a little bit less brutal and more punk, sounding like a band that could have been on one of those Best Run Fast comps or some other obscure but good Japanese HC comp.
