As Jeff and Usman, Gefyr hails from the same Swedish town as TotalitĂ€r and has snatched more than a couple of tricks from that bandâs well-thumbed playbook. There are a lot of bands out there who walk in TotalitĂ€râs footsteps, but (again, as Usman said), Gefyrâs capability with a range of different d-beat grooves really sets them off from the pack. They can go to ripping fast Shitlickers-inspired shit to a groovier, driving d-beat to an almost rocked-out part, which keeps my ears perked up for the duration of this LP.
