First released in 1993 as a mini 12" LP,Ā Hordanes LandĀ was also released a few weeks later as a split CD album with Emperor and is considered a key release in the development of Viking metal. The original songs have been entirelyĀ remastered by Iver SandĆøy at Solslottet StudioĀ (Bergen, Norway) and theĀ bonus track "Enslaved,"from theĀ EnslavedĀ split with Satyricon "Yggdrasill," released in 1992, is also included here. The By Norse Music re-issue features exclusive liner notes and quotes by major figures of the black metal scene such asĀ Fenriz(Darkthrone),Ā Sakis TolisĀ (Rotting Christ),Ā Lee BarretĀ (Candlelight) andĀ HrymrĀ (Helheim) among others, and a reassembled layout respectfully done byĀ Marcelo Vasco.
