Blackball: S/T 7"
Debut EP from Raleigh/Richmondâs Blackball. Blackball features current and former members of Pure Scum, SkemĂ€ta, Crooked Teeth, Future Binds, Abuse., Stripmines, Vacant Planet and more. Of those bands SkemĂ€ta is probably the closest reference point and if you like Jeffâs guitar work in Stripmines and SkemĂ€ta you'll definitely be into Blackball, but this project is a little different. More along the lines of something like DiE or Glue, Blackball relies on riffs that are a hair simpler and more direct than SkemĂ€ta, creating a more straightforward US-hardcore inspired sound that is just as interesting as the aforementioned bands but even catchier. Blackball are total go for the throat music, and the super raw recording here only accentuates their viciousness.
