Accidente: Cannibal 12"
4th full length from Accidente from Madrid. After new changes on the formation (the album was recorded with 2 different drummers), the band consolidates its sound on the continuation of the previous albums, ultra catchy political melodic Hardcore, soundtrack for the annihilation of every oppressive system/power. Comes in a nice gatefold cover!
Our take:Ā Madrid, Spainās Accidente has been around for a decade now, andĀ CanĆbalĀ is their fourth album. Itās been four years since their previous record,Ā Pulso, and it has more heart and fire than one might expect from a veteran bandās fourth album. Accidente seems like one of those bands that falls in between scenes. Theyāre poppy but not syrupy, theyāre fast, but theyāre not a hardcore band, and their songs are too complex and original to pigeonhole. Accidente is from the same city as Rata Negra, and while the two bands sound similar (particularly the vocals), Accidenteās slicker production and faster tempos remind me of some of my favorite 90s melodic punk. In particular, on tracks like āDesmesuraā that combine fast tempos with mournful vocal melodies, Accidente reminds me of UK melodic punk bands like Leatherface, Snuff, and Guns N Wankers. Like those bands, Accidente packs their songs with criss-crossing vocal and guitar melodies delivered with punk intensity.Ā
